Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how [YOUR LEGAL NAME / COMPANY] ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Serpin mobile application (the "App"). By using the App you agree to the practices described here.

If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.

1. Who we are

Serpin is a real-time training app for endurance squads. Athletes stream live sensor and location data during a training session; coaches monitor their squad live and send back short suggestions.

  • Data controller: [YOUR LEGAL NAME / COMPANY]
  • Contact: ascarbek@gmail.com

2. Information we collect

2.1 Account information

When you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information from your Google account: your name, email address, and Google account identifier. We do not receive or store your Google password.

2.2 Location data

When you take part in a session as an athlete, the App collects your precise GPS location, including in the background while a session is active (so your position keeps streaming to your coach when the screen is off). Location is collected only during an active session, not when the App is idle.

2.3 Health and fitness / sensor data

The App connects to your own Bluetooth training sensors and collects the measurements they broadcast, which may include:

  • Heart rate (bpm)
  • Cycling power (watts) and derived intensity (%FTP)
  • Cadence (rpm/spm)
  • Speed
  • Sensor battery level and device information

Some of this (such as heart rate) may be considered health data. It is used only to provide the App's training features.

2.4 Camera

If you scan an athlete's join-code QR to add them to a squad, the App uses your device camera to read the QR code. We do not store photos or video; the camera is used only to decode the code in real time.

2.5 Session and usage data

We store the telemetry generated during your sessions (the data in 2.2 and 2.3, tagged with timestamps and the session/athlete it belongs to) so that coaches can review the session and so your history is available to you.

2.6 Technical data

We may collect basic technical information such as device type, operating system version, app version, and diagnostic/crash information to keep the App working and secure.

3. How we use your information

We use the information above to:

  • Authenticate you and manage your account;
  • Stream your live position and effort to your coach during a session;
  • Show coaches their squad live on a map and generate alerts (e.g. rider dropped, redlining, stopped);
  • Deliver coach-to-athlete suggestions;
  • Store and display your session history;
  • Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the App;
  • Comply with legal obligations.

Legal bases (where GDPR/UK GDPR applies): performance of our contract with you (providing the App), your consent (e.g. location, health data, and camera access), and our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service.

4. How we share information

We share your data within your squad: when you participate in a session, your position and effort data are visible to the coach(es) of that squad, and coaches' suggestions are visible to the relevant athlete.

We also share data with service providers who process it on our behalf, including:

  • Google — for sign-in / authentication.
  • Our hosting/infrastructure provider — the App's backend runs on a self-hosted server that stores your account and session data. [NAME YOUR VPS/HOSTING PROVIDER, e.g. "hosted on [PROVIDER] in [REGION]"].

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

We may disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and service.

5. Data storage and security

Your data is stored on our backend server [LOCATION/REGION]. We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) between the App and our server, to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data retention

We retain your account and session data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 8). We may retain limited information where required for legal, security, or accounting purposes.

7. Children's privacy

The App may be used by junior and development squads. If athletes are minors, HR and other health data are collected and must be handled with appropriate consent.

  • The App is not directed to children under [AGE], and we do not knowingly collect data from them without appropriate parental/guardian consent; or
  • Where minors participate, we rely on the squad/organization and the parent or guardian to provide consent for the collection of location and health data.

If you believe a minor has provided us data without proper consent, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent.

  • Permissions: You can revoke Bluetooth, location, and camera permissions at any time in your device settings. Doing so will disable the corresponding features.
  • Requests: To exercise your rights or delete your account, contact us at ascarbek@gmail.com.

If you are in the EEA/UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. International transfers

Your data may be processed in a country other than the one you live in. Where required, we put appropriate safeguards in place for such transfers.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be communicated in the App or by other appropriate means.
